Bramcote SC Open Meet November 2019: Times and Report

Bramcote Leisure Centre, Nottingham – 24th November 2019

The latest Open Meet saw a record 50 BASC kids travel to take part in the. Bramcote SC Open Meet over 3 sessions – so a very long day rather than a weekend.

The event is age at the 24/11/19 – so this weekend the benefit was towards those born January to May – the top 6 in each event were given a medal/trophy – with the age groups being ages 10,11,12,13,14 plus. As kids from around Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Staffordshire attempt to get county times this was a hotly contested meet – the meet this year was over subscribed before its closing date. A number of the kids had represented the club in the Staffs League Final the night before – so special thanks go to all parents for dedicating so much of their weekend to swimming!!!!

Open meet debuts went to Thomas Hollis, Evie Harvey, Olivia Standley, Edward Frost, Evie Ellard, Toby Durkan, Dorothy Arcber and Josephine Brutton.

All of the kids had a really great day cheering each other on – plus 84 MEDALS was a record for a one day meet and 82 PB times despite so many races having been swam at Cannock the night before and set PBs galore at the club champs a week earlier.

A huge 33 different kids won a medal on the day – an amazing new record for Burton SC

STAR SWIMMER – Top boy was George Greener and George Preston and Top Girl was Sophie Fowkes and Georgia Ulyett –all won events and gained new county times on the day.

STAR RACE – 100m Breast – Toby Durkan becoming the 33rd BASC swimmer to make Counties 2020.

Medals haul per swimmer was:-
